EN        The exhibition “Ffffrrrrrrrannnnnssstt”, accompanied by a performance, is presented by the emerging and non-binary artist June Schade. These propositions, rooted in their perception of the medium of sound experimentation, are shared as an observation of society and symbolically express their feelings as a non-binary person socialized·e·x as a woman.

June Schade’s practice, also known as Franst, is grounded in sound experimentation as an act of deconstruction. Through sound, June dismantles the structures of societal norms, the body, and gender, seeking in improvisation a radical form of listening. Their work explores fluidity, dissociation, and the in-between — states of fragility where identity becomes blurred, shifting, and constantly transforming. June envisions this medium as an anchor for marginalized bodies, a non-verbal space of expression where resistance and comfort coexist, and where sound becomes a site of emancipation.
Through their performances, June primarily seeks to give sound, to share a moment of felt experience, one that aims to reach each listener·x. For June, sound is political — it is a means of claiming difference and making audible what is usually silenced. Through radical bass and offbeat tones, June expresses a refusal of conventions, a desire to show alternatives to dominant structures. Each performance thus becomes a space of contestation and openness — a sonic journey that unites and questions.

Navigating between two worlds, between concrete and fluid, June’s performance literally embodies this displacement. Like their totem animal, the mudskipper — a fish capable of living both in mud and water — June identifies with its gross, funny, and strange characteristics. The fish-costume becomes a metaphor for this hybrid, offbeat existence that escapes traditional beauty codes. Added to this is the trumpet, an instrument loaded with normative connotations — military, orchestral, prestigious — which June reclaims as a tool of sonic freedom. By playing it in a non-conventional, “wrong” way, June seeks to value imperfection and fragility.

Within this performative, sonic, and installation-based universe, June represents themselves,
symbolically and performatively laying themselves bare. June strives to question norms and celebrate displacement, echoing non-binarity and its social claims.

Ces propositions, basées sur sa perception du medium de l’expérimentation sonore, sont partagées comme constat de la société et témoignent symboliquement de son ressenti en tant que personne non-binaire socialisé·e·x comme femme.

La pratique de June Schade, alias Franst, s’ancre dans l’expérimentation sonore comme acte de déconstruction. Par le son, June défait les structures des normes sociétales, du corps et du genre, cherchant dans l‘improvisation une écoute radicale. Son travail explore la fluidité, la dissociation et l’entre-deux — états de fragilité où l’identité devient floue, mouvante et en transformation constante. June envisage ce médium comme un ancrage pour les corps marginalisés, un espace d’expression non verbal où la résistance et le réconfort coexistent, et où le son devient lieu d’émancipation.
Par ses performances, June cherche avant tout à donner le son, à partager un moment de ressenti, qui cherche à toucher chaque écouteur·trice·x. Pour June, le son est politique, il est un moyen de revendiquer la différence et de rendre audible ce qui est habituellement tu. Par ses basses radicales et ses sons décalés, June exprime un refus des conventions, une volonté de montrer des alternatives aux structures dominantes. Chaque performance devient ainsi un espace de contestation et d’ouverture, un voyage sonore qui réunit et questionne.

Naviguant entre deux mondes, entre béton et fluide, la performance de June incarne littéralement ce décalage. Tel·le·x son animal totem, le mudskipper, ce poisson capable de vivre dans la boue comme dans l’eau, June se reflète dans celui-ci par ses caractéristiques dégeu, drôles et bizarres. Le costume-poisson devient métaphore de cette existence hybride, décalée et sortant des codes de beauté. À cela s’ajoute la trompette, instrument normé dans l’imaginaire collectif – militaire, orchestral, prestigieux – que June se réapproprie pour en faire un outil de liberté sonore. En la jouant de manière non-conventionnelle, mal, June tend valoriser les aspects imparfaits et fragiles.

Dans cet univers performatif, sonore et installatif, June se représente, se met à nue symboliquement et performativement. June tend à remettre en question les normes et à valoriser le décalage, faisant écho à la non-binarité et ses revendications sociétales.

DE         Die Ausstellung „Ffffrrrrrrrannnnnssstt“, begleitet von einer Performance, wird von der aufstrebenden und nicht-binären Künstler·in·x June Schade präsentiert. Diese Arbeiten, die auf ihrer Wahrnehmung des Mediums der Klang- und Sound-Experimente basieren, werden als Beobachtung der Gesellschaft geteilt und spiegeln symbolisch ihr Empfinden als nicht-binäre, als Frau sozialisierte Person wider.

Die Praxis von June Schade, alias Franst, wurzelt in der Klang-Experimentation als Akt der Dekonstruktion. Durch den Klang löst June gesellschaftliche, körperliche und geschlechtliche Normstrukturen auf und sucht in der Improvisation nach einem radikalen Zuhören. Ihre Arbeit erforscht Fluidität, Dissoziation und das Dazwischen — fragile Zustände, in denen Identität verschwimmt, sich bewegt und ständig verwandelt. June versteht dieses Medium als Anker für marginalisierte Körper, als nicht-verbales Ausdrucksfeld, in dem Widerstand und Trost koexistieren und in dem Klang zu einem Ort der Emanzipation wird.
In ihren Performances sucht June vor allem, den Klang zu geben, einen Moment des Empfindens zu teilen, der jede·n Zuhörer·in·x berühren möchte. Für June ist Klang politisch — ein Mittel, Differenz einzufordern und hörbar zu machen, was sonst verschwiegen bleibt. Durch radikale Bässe und verschobene Klänge drückt June eine Ablehnung von Konventionen aus und zeigt den Wunsch, Alternativen zu dominanten Strukturen aufzuzeigen. Jede Performance wird so zu einem Raum des Widerstands und der Öffnung — einer klanglichen Reise, die verbindet und hinterfragt.

Zwischen zwei Welten navigierend, zwischen Beton und Fluidem, verkörpert Junes Performance dieses Verschoben-Sein buchstäblich. Wie ihr Totemtier, der Schlammspringer, ein Fisch, der sowohl im Schlamm als auch im Wasser leben kann, erkennt sich June in dessen ekligen, lustigen und seltsamen Eigenschaften wieder. Das Fischkostüm wird zur Metapher dieser hybriden, verschobenen Existenz jenseits gängiger Schönheitsnormen. Hinzu kommt die Trompete, ein Instrument voller normativer Bedeutungen – militärisch, orchestriert, prestigeträchtig – das June sich aneignet, um es als Werkzeug klanglicher Freiheit zu nutzen. Indem sie es unkonventionell, falsch spielt, betont June die Schönheit des Unvollkommenen und Fragilen.

In diesem performativen, klanglichen und installativen Universum stellt June sich selbst dar, legt sich symbolisch und performativ offen. June hinterfragt gesellschaftliche Normen und hebt das Verschobene hervor – als Echo der Nicht-Binarität und ihrer sozialen Forderungen.
