EN The exhibition “Und wenn der Schnee kommt ist das Jahr dann vorbei?” presents a personal archive, continually expanded through the artist’s observations, and shared with us as her current perspective on society.
Hannah spent several months in the Grisons, often alone for days in the mountains. She returned to the city for certain occasions, mainly for demonstrations or protests, during which the artist also experienced repression and violence from the police.
She continuously collected spoken expressions, short phrases, isolated fragments. She documented what was happening around her and connected these two realities: on the one hand, the traditional work of shepherds in the mountains of a dead-end valley; on the other hand, the resistance in the cities against global issues.
Without aiming to list society’s problems in her work, Hannah simply asks questions — the ones she asks herself. She shares thoughts and comments, voices her doubts, and initiates conversations. She proposes a space for reflection, open to everyone, to support one another and foster hope.
FR L’exposition « Und wenn der Schnee kommt ist das Jahr dann vorbei? » présente une archive personnelle, alimentée en permanence par des observations de l’artiste, qui nous est partagée comme son regard — actuel — de la société.
Hannah a passé plusieurs mois dans les Grisons, souvent seule pendant des jours dans les montagnes. Elle revenait en ville pour certaines occasions, principalement pour des manifestations ou des protestations, au cours desquelles l'artiste a également été victime de répression et de violence de la part de la police.
Elle a continuellement recueilli des expressions orales, des phrases courtes, des fragments isolés. Elle a documenté ce qui se passait autour d'elle et a mis en relation ces deux réalités. D'une part, le travail traditionnel des bergers dans les montagnes d'une vallée sans issue. D'autre part, la résistance dans les villes contre les problèmes mondiaux.
Sans vouloir lister dans son travail les problèmes de la société, Hannah pose tout simplement des questions, celles qu’elle se pose à elle-même. Partager des pensées et des commentaires. Émettre ses doutes et lancer des conversations. Proposer un lieu de réflexion, ouvert à touxtes, pour se soutenir et se donner de l’espoir.
DE Die Ausstellung «Und wenn der Schnee kommt ist das Jahr dann vorbei?» präsentiert ein persönliches Archiv, das fortlaufend durch die Beobachtungen der Künstlerin erweitert wird und uns als ihr gegenwärtiger Blick auf die Gesellschaft zugänglich gemacht wird.
Hannah verbrachte mehrere Monate in Graubünden, oft tagelang allein in den Bergen. Sie kehrte zu bestimmten Anlässen in die Stadt zurück, hauptsächlich zu Demonstrationen oder Protesten, bei denen die Künstlerin ebenfalls Repression und Gewalt durch die Polizei erlebte.
Sie sammelte kontinuierlich mündliche Äußerungen, kurze Sätze, isolierte Fragmente. Sie dokumentierte, was um sie herum geschah, und verknüpfte diese beiden Realitäten: einerseits die traditionelle Arbeit der Hirten in den Bergen eines Sacktals, andererseits den Widerstand in den Städten gegen globale Probleme.
Ohne in ihrer Arbeit die Probleme der Gesellschaft aufzuzählen, stellt Hannah einfach Fragen – jene, die sie sich selbst stellt. Sie teilt Gedanken und Kommentare, äußert Zweifel und initiiert Gespräche. Sie bietet einen Ort der Reflexion, offen für alle, um sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen und Hoffnung zu geben.
